A. General Questions

1.        Does your USB phone support the sleeping mode of Windows?

No. The firmware and the driver design of your USB phone do not support PC to be sleeping mode.

2.        Why strong noise can be heard in some computer?

Reason: The computer uses motherboard with SiS chipsets.

Because SiS chipsets do not have standard support for USB devices, the U-series phones cannot support the motherboards with SiS chipsets very well. Strong voice may be heard. Equipments which have SiS chipsets are GigaByte GA85G667 Motherboard, Acer 351 Notebook, Toshiba 200 Notebook and Sony SR-27K Notebook, etc. Check www.sis.com for further information.

However, we have provided the latest version Client Software which might solve this problem, if the strong noise still exists even after you already installed it. Please go to our website to download “SIS Patch”. After installation of the SIS patch and plugging the USB phone into the computer, a green arrow will appear in the right-bottom of Windows. The green arrow idicates the installation of SIS Patch is successful.

Download the SiS patch

Notice: The SIS patch does not work with WIN98 and some SiS chipsets.

If strong noise still can be heard after installing SiS patch, we are sorry for no solution for the time being. Please record the SiS chipset model number, motherboard model number and operating system (including language) and report to us. We will solve this in future development.

Some models of the following product brands may have SiS chipset,

3.        How to distinguish network quality?

In windows interface, click menu “Start” > “Run” > input “command” > click “Enter” to go to MSDOS.

In MSDOS window:

Input: ping XXXXXX(IP address or DNS)

The window will show:

Reply from XXXXXXXX: bytes=32 time=XXXms TTL=XXX

Reply from XXXXXXXX: bytes=32 time=XXXms TTL=XXX

Reply from XXXXXXXX: bytes=32 time=XXXms TTL=XXX

Request timed out.

Ping statistics for XXXXXXXXXX:

       Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 3, Lost =  1 (25% loss)

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

       Minimum = 151ms, Maximum = 300ms, Average = 240ms

(i)                  Delay

The value of “Minimum =” means minimum delay. The value of “Maximum =” means maximum delay. “Average =” means average delay. “ms” is time value(1/1000 sec). The minimum and maximum delay value of packages to the destination is 151ms and 300ms respectively. The average delay is 240ms.

(ii)                Jitter

Jitter can be identified by the comparison between Maximum/Minimum Delay and Average Delay. The difference between them is the jitter level.

(iii)               Package Loss Percentage

In “Lost = a (b% loss)”, “a” means the quantity of package loss, “b” means the percentage of package loss.

A. For the following:

(i)                  Public IP dials to regular phone

(ii)                Caller and receiver both are public IP

(iii)               Caller and receiver both are private IP

You can check the network quality by ping XXXXXXX(IP address of the opposite) to get package loss percentage.

B. For other circumstances

You can check the network quality by ping XXXXXXX(Server DNS) to get package loss percentage.

4.    How to dial a number with talkpro phone?

1.Talkpro calling talkpro

Every TalkPro will be assigned a TalkPro number. TalkPro users can directly call each other’s number followed by ‘#’ key.

Example: A user with the number 6800005 calling another user with the number 6800015. The 6800005 user simply pick up the TalkPro handset, and dial 6800015# after hearing a dialing tone.

2.Talkpro calling regular phone

Every TalkPro can call any land or mobile phone anywhere in the world. Please dial with the TalkPro dialing rule.

Example 1: To call a U.S or Canada number, please first dial 1, then the telephone number followed by ‘#’ key.

TalkPro user calling a U.S/Canada regular number 949-123-4567. Pick up the TalkPro handset, dial 19491234567# after hearing the dial tone.

Example 2: To call other countries’ regular numbers, please first dial 011, then the country code (no ‘0’ as prefix), and dial the telephone followed by ‘#’ key.

TalkPro user calling a China regular number 0755-88889999. Pick up the TalkPro handset, dial 0118675588889999# after hearing the dial tone.

3.Regular phone calling talkpro phone

This is an optional service. Only areas that provides TalkPro access numbers allow calls from a regular phone to TalkPro, for detail please refer to “Access Code Availability Schedules” on the Carrier Service page.

This service is categorized into two types: Once Dialing and Twice Dialing.

Once Dialing: Users with this service will have their TalkPro numbers bundled with a regular local phone number of a certain place, and people will only have dial that bundled local phone number to reach the subscribing TalkPro user.
Example: A Mexico TalkPro user 6800001 bundles with a U.S Los Angeles regular phone number 1-949-123-4567, then friends in the U.S just have to dial 19491234567 to connect with the 6800001 TalkPro.

Twice Dialing: People just have to dial any number listed on the Carrier Service page, and dial the TalkPro number that subscribes to this service after hearing a second dial tone, then they can reach that TalkPro user.
Examples: A Mexico TalkPro user 6800001 is subscribed to this service, and its Los Angeles access code is 1-949-123-4567. People only just need to dial 19491234567, then dial 6800001# to reach that TalkPro user in Mexico.
